Windshield Repair Kit – Fix a Chip Before It Becomes a Crack
A kit for filling small chips in laminated automotive glass yourself: resin, a suction-cup injector, and curing film. A repair takes twenty to thirty minutes, including curing in the sun. Intended for chips and small pits, not for cracks that extend across the glass.
Why choose a windshield repair kit?
A chip rarely stays a chip; temperature changes and speed bumps eventually turn it into a crack. Filling the hole while it is still small helps keep the windshield intact. That saves you a trip to a windshield repair shop for damage just a few millimeters wide.
- Suction-cup injector — forces the resin into the glass under pressure, right into the tips of the damage.
- Curing resin — hardens in daylight and becomes hard like the surrounding glass.
- Curing film and blade — leaves the surface level and scrapes it smooth.
- Twenty to thirty minutes — one chip per kit, from setup to scraping.
- For laminated glass — suitable for laminated windshields and mirrors.
Keep small damage small, in your driveway instead of at the workshop.
Work on a clean, dry windshield at an outdoor temperature above ten degrees. Position the injector precisely over the impact point and draw out the air before allowing the resin to flow in. The result is a fill that stops the crack; a faint outline usually remains visible.
