The 5-meter string has 20 bulbs, while the 10-meter version has 40. The bulbs are spaced at fixed intervals, so the length immediately determines how far you can span. Measure the span before choosing, and take the desired amount of sag into account: a tightly stretched string needs less length than one that hangs in a graceful curve.
