The base is made of ceramic and finished by hand individually, so no two lanterns are exactly alike. Above it is clear glass that shields the flame. Turn the wick higher or lower to decide how much light you want.

A flame gives a different kind of light than a lamp: warmer, livelier and more pleasant on a long evening. The glass protects it from drafts, so the flame stays lit on the patio too. There is no cord involved.
