Solar lamp with motion sensor – looks like a camera, without wiring
This LED outdoor lamp charges during the day via its own solar panel and turns on in the evening as soon as it detects movement. The housing resembles a security camera, but it is only a lamp: it does not record anything. Intended for places where running a cable is difficult, such as a shed, a fence, or a long driveway.
Why this solar lamp?
You get light where you need it, without an electrician or an outdoor power outlet. The camera-like housing also gives the wall an alert appearance.
- Built-in solar panel: a 138 × 80 mm panel charges an 18650 battery during the day for use in the dark
- Motion sensor: responds to people or vehicles at approximately 6 to 8 meters and keeps the light on for about 20 seconds
- Weather-resistant: ABS and PC housing with IP64 protection against dust and splashing water
- Camera look: resembles a security camera, without recording functionality
- Battery protection: switches off at 2.7 V and back on at 3.0 V
Screw it in once and that dark corner by the shed is taken care of.
Mount the lamp on a wall or pole where the panel gets as much open daylight as possible, since trees, roofs, and walls reduce charging. Long periods of cloudy weather shorten how long it stays on at night. The detection range also depends on the mounting height and angle, so test it before drilling the final holes.
